CityBuzz is a PR company that specializes in producing video segments that run in hotel rooms, focusing on local shopping, fashion, and entertainment options. I had worked with one of their account execs before to produce the Vidicom ad further below.

This is the final version of the ad, which ran in September on MediaBuyerPlanner.com. I like the original version better before the modifications the client requested, but here’s the finished version. It had slightly more vibrant colors and small animation differences.

Vidicom ad

Vidicom is a fashion marketing and video production company in Manhattan, a subsidiary of CityBuzz. After seeing my mediamixx ad (included in this blog section), a sales managers contacted me to do their PR WEEK ad also with a modified version to run on Odwyer’s.

Client supplied copy. I supplied everything else, coming up with the concept, the illustrations, and the Flash animation. Cramming in all that text into such a narrow space proved to be quite a challenge, but I worked out a good solution with the cue cards. It worked well with the Oscar statue.

These two ads generated a lot of new business leads for Vidicom, said my client. She was quite happy with the results. Shorter ad: PR WEEK ad. Taller ad: Odwyer’s ad.

It has been at least 3 years since I’ve borrowed anything from the library. With funding being cut endlessly by the federal government, they don’t get many new books, especially when it comes to fast-changing industries like the IT sector. The library has made some technology upgrades however, that are encouraging, including public access to the internet, and open wireless.

I’m typing from my local branch. I gulped down my coffee before coming in, only to see a Snapple machine right in the front of the reading section. And lots of noisy kids. So much for no drinking and being quiet in the library.
